"Good Neighbor"

Living in Carpenter Village we are all in a close proximity with our neighbors; because of this we should take time to consider them in many ways.

One of those considerations can be described as "nuisance" noise. Our covenants do not contain specific sections that directly address noise. However, the Town of Cary does have a noise ordnance that contains specific prohibitions and exceptions. For example, we can operate lawn mowers and other motor driven tools from 7 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and 9 AM to 9 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

The noise generated by children and adults during activities such as jumping on trampolines, playing basketball in the driveways & alleyways, and engaging in many other outdoor activities certainly will probably disturb the dinner party next door.

Please be a good neighbor and be considerate of others when starting the lawnmower, revving the car engine, or becoming involved in any other outdoor activity. Asking your neighbor if you are disturbing them might also be a good "neighborly" thing to do.

In addition (and you have heard this one many times before), picking up your pet droppings is also part of being a good neighbor. We all use the same walking trails, sidewalks and common areas. If we all take pride in our neighborhood, we can keep it as clean as possible for all of us to enjoy.

Carpenter Village is a unique and great place to live. We are close to the Interstate, close to RTP, close to the State Capital, close to several major Universities, and by virtue of the way it is developed -- we are close to each other. We all want to enjoy our home and property, so please do your part to be a "good neighbor"!

Attendance at Board of Directors Meetings:

All Board of Directors meetings are considered “Open” to any and all homeowners. The Board both welcomes and encourages attendance by homeowners at any and all Board meetings. Homeowners should feel free to attend and observe the Board proceedings or to request to make a presentation to the Board on any item of concern. In addition, the first 15 minutes of each meeting will be an “Open Mike” type scenario, where homeowners can address the board on any issue you wish to bring to the board’s attention.

However, the board requests that if you are interested in making a presentation to the board as an agenda item, please notify Omega Management at least seven days in advance, noting the subject to be addressed, so that the topic may be placed on the meeting agenda. This advance notification will permit us to ensure adequate seating arrangements and to allow for an appropriate amount of time on the agenda for topics to be presented. We will place guest topics at the beginning of the agenda in order to accommodate those who do not wish to remain for the remainder of the meeting to leave after their presentation.

Financial information regarding specific homeowner dues, fees or other confidential information may be discussed during Board meetings. Guests will be requested to leave the meeting prior to the start of discussions of confidential information.
